I hear rabbits taste like chicken. Posted by Picasa
Its weird, I almost feel human today. Not sure what is going on here but Brynna fell asleep when we wanted to go to bed last night and then slept for some reasonably long periods between feedings as well. I was tired as hell when I first woke up but I'm feeling like a million bucks right now.

I also introduced the bottle last night before bed... and then when I was done with my beer (ba da bum) I gave Brynna her first bottle last night as well. She didn't care for it too much at first but once she realized that it was full of milky goodness she was all over it like beads at Mardis Gras. Hopefully this will mean that Marcy will be able to get some me time soon since she'll be able to get away for more than an hour. Of course, when the grandmothers catch wind of this I'm sure that they'll be scratching at the door wanting to take her for the day. I think that I'm comfortable with that but I'm not so sure that Marcy is yet. We'll see.

Fish bowl. Posted by Picasa

Marcy took Brynna to my final race of the season yesterday sporting the schnazzy new do-everything stroller/trailer/jogger/xc ski thingy. Brynna was a hit with young and old. The kids seen here thought that there were at an aquarium. They continually tapped the side of the jogger trying to get Brynna's attention.

WARNING! POETIC CONTENT!

haiku anyone?

labor day weekend
you have enriced our lives so
welcome new nelson

early morning cry
up all night again fussing
sleep through the night please

Ok, thats enough abuse of the english language for one day.

Drumroll please...

Brynna went in for her two week check up yesterday and apparently she's been busy! This probably came as no suprise to Marcy since Brynna has been treating her like her own personal chuck wagon but in a little under two weeks the little parasite has put on another pound! She is now up to 9lb 6oz but still at the same length so she's filling out. She's already got two chins and shooting for the third I'm sure. She was also put on zantac to help with her reflux. We'll see if it helps. She's been spitting up half of her food after every feeding so hopefully this will help her keep it down and make her a bit more comfortable and able to sleep better. Fingers crossed. We hit one milestone last night. Baby girl actually slept for over two hours in her pack-n-play next to our bed so that mommy and daddy could actually sleep without the squirming, rooting little bedhog keeping us up all night.

Oh yeah, and nobody ever told me that something so small could let such huge farts! She's a machine I tell ya. Its enough to make a daddy proud...(sniff, tear in eye).

Bath time!

Our little princess just loves to be bathed now. Isn't it just like a woman to want to be pampered. Before we know it, it'll be loofas and facials...

With a little one around I have to refrain from poop references so I cleverly wear a shirt that says it all... (look closely) as I feed her her first shot.

note: no grandparents were harmed in the creating of this post.

Wow, scary. Just look at the maniacal expressions on the grandmother's faces! Look out kid, they'll eat you whole.

The intelligence of dog

Every time that we take Chancy-pants out for a walk in public we are constantly stopped by people wanting to pet him and to tell us how handsome and beautiful he is yada yada. I have often said that if I were a teenage boy I would be walking that dog through town every damn day cause teenage girls are at your mercy when Chance struts his stuff. While everybody thinks that Mr. Pants is handsome you will never hear anyone say how intelligent he looks or acts! Take last evening for example. The remnants of hurricane Katrina were blowing through but we were getting no rain at the moment so we let Chance out to play and do his business. Because of the rain earlier in the day we had some standing water behind the garage so Chance spent the better part of an hour splashing in and barking at said water completely soaking himself in the process. After he had been out for a while the rain actually started. Nothing too serious, just a steady light rain. What does Chance do? Continue to play? Nooooooo, he retreats to the garage to get out of the rain! WTF!??! Doesn't he realize what he has been doing for the last hour??? He won't be going to any MENSA meetings anytime soon.
