Done!

Over the weekend B was sick. Vomit into a plastic cup every five minutes while still not taking eyes off of Dora sick. As a result, most outdoor plans for the weekend were shelved so we could all lay low, kick B's illness and hopefully not get sick ourselves. One good thing about being stuck in the house over the weekend was that I was able to finally finish the work on the downstairs "bike" room. It's been fixed up enough now that I'm not allowed to work on my bikes in there but it is a much better environment for the trainer and for B to master her artistic abilities.

Thankfully, we'll be selling the house soon (we hope!) so we won't be needing the fruits of my labor for much longer.

Brynna's picnic

Brynna set the table last night for a "picnic". Apparently we all have incontinence issues since we have to sit on absorbant towels. Ever eat dinner with two creapy babies staring at you? Not right I tell you.

Cuddling Nelson Style

Being a Nelson, B has a built-in need, no, cumpulsion to do things TO THE EXTREME!!! (I can't remember what movie that is from but anyway...). As a case in point, here is a photo montage of B doing a bit of high speed cuddling with dadda.

Ready, set, go! (try to ignore the rat tail, I need a haircut)

red headed freight train

brace yourself

try to avoid the bulbous melon (both mine and hers)

laugh like crazy.

repeat 10 times.

Now it's dadda's turn!

Shrimp!

So everyone in the Nelson clan LOVES shrimp. On Friday I brought home 10 pounds of delicious, sweet Gulf of Maine trapped shrimp. A friend of mine has a business and buys directly from the fishermen. I had hoped that my dear family would assist with the picking (removal of heads and shells): Rick conveniently got "lost" on his bike commute home; Brynna was more interested in the product of my efforts and actually snagged a raw shrimp from the bowl and shoved it in her mouth before I could stop her; and Chance and Grace...well, Chance was stealing whole shrimp out of the bucket on me (I'm surprised he didn't stab his throat with the rostrum/horn) and Grace was lurking around ready to steal anything I dropped.
You want me to hold THAT?

You forgot to peel it for me...

The shrimp were beautiful! As Brynna says "yummer". You can't go wrong with 10 pounds (5 pounds of meats) for $6.

It's ours!

Well, it's official. We are now the proud owners of 17.5 acres in Edgecomb (well, 20% of it is ours at least). We passed papers and signed away our souls on Tuesday. Now we just have to sell our house...maybe not the best time for that but whatcha gonna do?

Prior to the closing we spend a fair amount of time on the property checking out building sites, walking the perimeter and just plain hacking around. B absolutely loves it there because there is so much to do, play in/on/over and I'm sure Chance will be in heaven.

"Yogurt"

Brynna loves to do exercises with daddy each night. I've recently added a few yoga moves to try to improve my flexibility. Here are two videos of B playing along (and doing a better job I might add).
