The Firs

A couple of weeks ago, we were invited to spend a final weekend at the Firs (a co-worker's father's camp) before it was sold. We gladly took them up on it and had a blast. Here are some of the pics.

How can Chance look so stoic in one pic and...

so dumb in the next?

Daddy, glare over there. Check

Brynna steered the golf cart up from the beach to the cabin (about 300 yds) with only a few very necessary corrections needed.

Because sometimes you want to look pretty

and no, those aren't Marcy's incredibly veiny feet you're seeing. I figure, if I can wax my legs, painting my nails can't make me any LESS manly.

doing her doody

Always looking for a new challenge and wanting to broaden her experiences, B found a nice pair of crocs to do her business in while at Maine Sport.

chip off the ole block

While I was racing two weeks ago at Camden Marcy and Brynna were playing to pass the time. When Brynna spotted the kids races getting ready to take place she immediately started saying "tricle" and "helmet" "race kids, race kids". I have no idea how she got so competitive.

busted

I found out what B was doing in my planting beds the other day (see post "Yummy yummy"). Apparently she was after this critter.

when mom's away

What do you do when mommy's away and you've got your brand new (as in less than a day old) shoes on? You play in a pile of daddy's dirt for an hour. That's what.

yummy yummy

Who the frick is that kid and what the hell is she doing in my planting bed??????? Not only does she stomp my flowers but thanks to her I had the words "fruit salad, yummy, yummy" running through my head during an entire 2 1/4 hour ride the other night. The Wiggles must die!

oops

Do you ever get the feeling that you've really pissed someone off? I'm not sure but I think my "kayak introduction" post may have done just that. How do I know you ask? Well, quite honestly, I'm a very observant person and it became immediately clear the second they both called me to tell me so.

Mission accomplished.

If you could take this picture, pull out the smiles and replace them with a grimmace and maybe a shaking fist or two you'd have a pretty good idea of what I'm facing. Totally worth it.

more NC pics

So what if its been a month and a half since we got back. I've got nothing else to write about so this is what you get. Suck it!

The cabin.
The cabin again and me looking like a complete douche. Typical.
Marcy and B while at one of the many waterfalls in Dupont Forest.

View down at Chimney Rock park.

A view of the cliffs from the movie "Last of the Mohicans" or as I like to call it, "Kevin's unnatural obsession with Daniel Day Lewis in a loin cloth."

Gampy, B and myself enjoying an ice cream after suffering in the sweltering sun on a hike at Chimney Rock.

big announcement

Over the last week, Marcy and I have had an announcement to make but we weren't quite sure how to go about doing it. We wanted our parents to know first but who would be the lucky first recipient? After much debating, we decided to let them find out for themselves and simply post it here and whoever reads it first wins. Sounds like a good plan huh, plus this way I'll find out who REALLY checks the blog on a regular basis.

So here goes, on Sunday, Marcy and I found out (for sure) that we'd be having our second.....

ride in our new kayak. A shiny, new, brightly colored Old Town Dirigo. What? Wait a second, you didn't think we were talking about another baby did you??? You should really learn to control your emotions and not jump to conclusions. Silly grandparents.
