Bath time
Here is a video of Brynna taking a bath last night. She's become quite the splasher. I was also trying to capture her screaming since that is about all that she does now but of course once the camera comes on, the screaming stops.
Click on the photo to see the video or click here.
Again, sorry that the video is sideways, I'm a dunce and forget when I'm taking it and I don't have the software to fix it.
We have sleep!
Brynna has really thrown Marcy and I a bone recently and started sleeping through the night (mostly anyway) for the last three nights she has slept for at least 8 hrs straight. Of course, since she goes to be at 6:30-7:00 that means that we still aren't getting a full night quite yet but its getting tantilizingly close. There are two likely reasons that she has started sleeping better at night. The first is that we started ferberizing her a couple of weeks ago so she has become comfortable sleeping on her own and has learned (quite quickly I might add) to put herself back to sleep. The other probable reason is that she has really started to inhale her cereal and veggies at her evening feeding. Its getting to the point that we have to stop feeding her before she's done eating otherwise it would be a constant stream of baby food from mouth to pooper. At daycare, they have even been able to get her to sleep in a pack and play for her naps. Good thing because our skiing vacation is coming up soon and I'd hate to have to pack up the crib to take with us...

pinwheel
Over the weekend Marcy, Kevin and I were talking about the babies while watching Norwich and Colby tie in a D3 hockey game and I came to the realization that at about 6 months of age there are basically three types of babies, the type that sticks its ass in the air and pushes with her feet but not getting cooperation from the arms (this used to be Brynna), the type that prefers to stay on her back and scoot along using her feet (this would be Calia) and the type who spins around in circles like some sort of possessed pinwheel (that would be Brynna now).
I’m not sure of the exact reason for this but I’m guessing that it has something to do with her giant head acting as a fulcrum to spin around. She’s yet to go anywhere in a straight line but she can do it in a loopdee-doo fashion though.

My little pony
Brynna got a My Little Pony from Mimi Jo and Papa Don for Christmas. We finally opened it up for her last weekend for her to play with. Its motorized so that it opens its eyes, sits up, and says stupid stuff until you shove a pacifier into its mouth to shut it up. Anyway, Brynna was playing with it when she pulled the pacifier out of the pony's mouth and put it into hers. Funny as hell. It was strange though since she hasn't used a pacifier in well over a month now. Who knows that that little girl is thinking.

Neb this
Brynna has just about kicked her bronchialitis. Her meds were administered via a nebulizer. Typically, with babies, you simply hold the neb near the baby's face and blow the mist towards them to breath. Brynna thought that it would be more efficient if she muckled onto that sucker like she was taking a five minute hit from a bong. I would think that most babies would get upset having a pump blow air into their mouth but not our Brynna.

A.D.D.
Brynna has become quite the busy body these days. She loves Chance and Grace so much now that she gets a huge smile on her face whenever they come anywhere near her and she will flail her arms trying to “pet “ them. She also has recently developed a strong attachment to the tv remote. If its anywhere within eyesight, she’ll twist, pull, punch her way to it. Once its in her little hands it becomes a weapon of mass destruction. She alternates from chewing on it with fervor to swinging it around madly. Its getting interesting and a bit scary in our house. We may be in for it when she gets a bit older.
Anyway, here is an I-M conversation that we had this morning.
Marcy says:
b isdoing everyting she can to get at the computer
Rick says:
I CAN PICTURE HER DOING IT. SO CUTE
Marcy says:
yup. she is leaning side to side and reaching - oops on to chance!
Marcy says:
and we have found the remote!
Rick says:
YIPPEE!
Marcy says:
okay - now she has pulled her sock off and is eating it
Rick says:
BUSY, MORNING
Marcy says:
Yup
Marcy says:
she is now laying on the couch sucking her thumb
Marcy says:
now talking to a pillow. what goes through that little mind?!
Marcy says:
oh my god. she is now talking to the afghan my granmother made and has basically pulled it off the back of the couch and over her head. her face is covered in the tassles and she is talking away.
Marcy says:
nothing is safe!
So close!

To try to see if she would start crawling, I put the remote on the floor in front of her as bait. Here you can see that she is trying with all of her might to get to it to no avail. The legs and arms are working but she hasn't figured out how to get it all to work together yet.
So close!

Bronchiolitis
"Who me???"
"I've got junk in my trunk. No, seriously, I've got a giant load back there. Could you change me please?"
"Sucker! You just wiped my ass!"
Poor Brynna is battling a case of Bronchiolitis right now. She's coughing like crazy and having a hard time sleeping right now but hopefully she's on the downhill side of it since its been a few days now and it should only last about a week. She continues to gobble her food and has moved from rice cereal to oatmeal and is loving it. She literally can't get enough. We usually have to cut her off before she's really done otherwise she'd be pooping straight oatmeal. Come to think of it, that might be better than the green goo that she's been passing since she got sick. Something tells me that I may have just crossed the line of good taste right there but really, when was the last time the good taste line WAS even visible on this blog? Been quite some time me thinks...
